1988년 연간 전체 빌보드 핫 40위 곡 (Billboard Year-End Hot 100 singles of 1988) 더티 댄싱 (Dirty Dancing, 1987) 주제가 She's like the wind는 영화속 주인공 패트릭 스웨이지가 직접 불렀던 곡으로 1988년 빌보드 3위까지 갔었다. 2007년에 Lumidee가 리메이크했다. 원래 이 노래는 1984년 영화 Grandview, U.S.A.에 쓰여질 예정이었다가 취소되었다 더티 댄싱에 삽입된 사연이 있다. 돌이켜 보면 더티댄싱에 잘 맞는 노래였다.
더티 댄싱 (Dirty Dancing, 1987) 사운드트랙 앨범은 1987년과 1988년 앨범차트 The Billboard 200에서 1위를 기록했다. 영화 못지 않게 사운드트랙 역시 큰 성공을 거두었다.
참고로 패트릭 스웨이지는 1979년 영화 ‘스케이트 타운 USA’로 데뷔해 1987년 영화 ‘더티댄싱’으로 세계적인 스타가 된다. 1990년 데미무어, 우피 골드버그 등과 함께 출연한 영화 사랑과 영혼 (Ghost , 1990)이 전세계적으로 흥행을 거두고 수많은 여성들의 우상이 된다. 이외 ‘폭풍 속으로’, ‘시티 오브 조이’등에 출연했다. TV 시리즈 ‘비스트’를 마지막으로 2009년 9월 14일 췌장암으로 57세로 사망했다.
