2015.7.24. (미국기준) 개봉 미국 복싱 영화 사우스포 (Southpaw) 사운드트랙, 최고의 래퍼 에미넴이 불렀다. 영화 사우스포는 안톤 후쿠아 감독이 연출했고, 제이크 질렌한, 포레스트 휘태커, 래퍼 50센트, 레이첼 맥아담스 등이 출연을 한다.
*참고: 사우스포 (Southpaw)는 남쪽(south)과 손(paw)이 결합된 단어로, 야구에서 왼손잡이 투수를 의미했던 말이었다. 19세기 말에는 야구경기가 오후에 시작되었는데, 타자들과 본부석 쪽의 관중들에게 직접적으로 햇볕이 내리쬐지 않게 하기 위해 야구장의 홈플레이트가 서쪽을 향하도록 지어졌다. 그래서 좌완투수가 투구를 할 경우에는 왼손이 남쪽(south)에 있게 되는 것에서 나온 말로, 1885년 미국 잡지 ‘스포팅 라이프’에 처음 등장했다고 알려져있고 이후 1891년 시카고 헤럴드의 기자 찰리 시모어가 사용하면서 알려지기 시작했다고 한다. 현재는 야구뿐만 아니라 복싱 등에서도 왼손잡이 선수를 가리키는 말로 쓰이고 있다. 좌파 정치인들에게도 간혹 이 단어가 쓰인다고.
